The Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools wishes to appoint a Finance Officer to join our centralised Finance team. Based in Prendergast Vale School you will support the Finance Operations Manager in delivering an efficient and accurate Finance service to the Headteacher and school staff.
Created in 2008, the Federation educates 2,800 students in Lewisham and comprises Prendergast School, Prendergast Vale School and Prendergast Ladywell School. The group is a hard federation made up of both voluntary aided and foundation schools and, as such, benefit from being more autonomous than other groups. The Federation enjoys a close relationship with The Leathersellers’ Company which dates back to the 15th Century.
You will be responsible for processing all financial accounts and transactions for Prendergast Vale School and maintaining records in the Federation’s finance system. You will provide support to Department budget holders and be responsible for the management of accounts payable, journal posting, online banking and BACS payments.
The successful candidate will have relevant experience within a finance role providing a budget management and budget reporting service involving large and complex budgets. An AAT or professional accountancy qualification or equivalent is desirable.
The successful candidate will have a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong ICT skills and a collaborative approach. You will be well organised and self-motivated.
